We Listed Our House!

I don’t think it’s a secret that the housing market has been CRAZYYY. We all know it’s an amazing time to sell, but not necessarily a great time to buy. The best case scenario for this market is to sell NOW & buy LATER. After talking, thinking, & praying about it… that is exactly what Travis & I have decided to do!!! “But where are you guys moving!?” To answer this question, I have to first talk about our WHY for selling. 1. Space 2020 brought us TWO big changes in life. Our beautiful baby boy AND Travis’s job shifting to be 100% WFH. Our two bedroom townhouse is not cutting it. If we had at least one more bedroom for an office for Travis, it would be perfect! So eventually we want a bigger house than what we are currently in. 2. ROI What we could make on our house now compared to what we would make if we waited to sell is too much to pass up. We don’t really know what will happen with the market, but we do know it will calm down a bit and if we wait to sell we would not be able to list for as much. 3. Financial Freedom

Our third and biggest reason for this decision is because we want to use our earnings to finally achieve financial freedom and be debt free! We have been working toward this since we got married and cannot even imagine what it will be like to finally be DONE. Being free of debt is a biblical concept. “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.”

Romans 13:8 We want to make sure we are abiding by God’s word and stewarding our blessings in a way that is pleasing to Him. After our debt is paid, we plan to WAIT & SAVE & PRAY about where God wants us to raise our family. (Don’t worry, we aren’t going far. There’s no way we could leave our amazing friends & family.)

Ok but WHERE are you guys moving??

The Plan My parents have graciously offered for us to move into their upstairs! You read that right, we’re almost 30 and moving back in with our parents. It’s humbling, it’s not glamorous, but we firmly believe this is the move God has for us. We want to be obedient & make decisions that honor & glorify Him. On the plus side we now have built-in babysitters & a pool in the backyard, so let me know when you’re coming over to swim with us! Within one year we would love to utilize the skills my dad and I have been honing through Simple Living Homes to either flip or build a new home. We’ve been designing & creating homes for other families for 2 years now & it would be a dream come true to be able to do the same for my own family!

That’s a ways away, but it’s what we will be saving for & praying about. Until then, you can find us hanging with The Shannon’s!
